Steve Smith and David Warner shine in grade Australian cricket

Warner scored a ton, whereas Smith scored a half century.

Steve Smith. (ICC) Banned Australian cricketers Steve Smith and David Warner came back to form by scoring heavy runs in grade Australian cricket. Smith scored a patient half-century at the Glenn McGrath Oval, before getting caught at mid-on off a leading edge on 85.

David Warner. (ICC)Meanwhile, David Warner scored a century for his side against St George at Coogee Oval. He celebrated the milestone with a trademark leap in the air. Smith’s knock came on the same day Australia’s former vice-captain David Warner made his return to club cricket in Australia. Warner will play for Randwick=Petersham against St George at Coogee Oval.

This is a comeback for both the banned cricketers after Cricket  Australia subjected them to a 12-month suspension following their involvement in the infamous ball-tampering saga in South Africa earlier this year in March. Their suspension is expected to come to an end before the 2019 World Cup and Ashes campaigns next year where the Australian coach Justin Langer hopes to get their availability.
