Former Pakistan batsman Younis Khan has revealed on Monday (September 17) that Mohammad Yousuf is yet to fulfill his promise of giving him a dinner date which he made way back in 2002.

Younis revealed the incident while talking to media in the sixth edition of Salaam Cricket 2018 held in Dubai on Monday that Yousuf once dared Younis to bring something valuable from then captain Wasim Akram and even the Test specialist had also accepted the challenge. The 40-year-old also said that Yousuf promised a dinner treat if he completed the dare, which is yet to be fulfilled.

As per reports in India Today, Younis said, “Wasim Akram and Mohammad Yousuf often got into friendly banters. Once Yousuf told me if you can take anything from Wasim I will treat you to dinner. This was back in 2002 when Wasim bhai was a legend and I was just starting my career.”

He further went on to explain, “I took 24 hours to think about this dare so I planned for what I would take from him and how. I accepted Yousuf's challenge and looked at Wasim bhai's shoe the next day and tried to find out what size he wears. After practice Wasim bhai came back tired and I served him water. At that time I asked Wasim bhai for a favour and told him how a poor kid back home needs shoes and it would be great if you could gift him yours.”

Younis signed off by saying, “Wasim bhai asked me if that kid was really in need of shoes and gave them to me instantly. So I got the shoes from Wasim bhai and when I went to Yousuf to show him the shoes, he didn't believe me. And he never honoured that deal. I am yet to get that dinner treat from him and still remind him of it. I still have those shoes with me though.”
