Having beaten Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final of 2018 Caribbean Premier League, Trinbago Knight Riders lifted their third title in the tournament history and stamped their authority as one of the most successful franchises in the world. 

While wicketkeeper-batsman Luke Ronchi made a fine 44 off 35 balls, batting first Guyana were restricted to a modest score of 147/9, with TKR left-arm spinner Khary Pierre bowling a magnificent spell of 4 overs going for just 29 runs in an effort that saw him pick up 3 wickets too. 

In the run-chase, Denesh Ramdin(24) and Brendon McCullum(39) got their team off to a very good start before Colin Munro went full Colin Munro and bamboozled the opposition bowling attack with a match finishing 68 off 39 balls. 

Trinbago Knight Riders won the game by 8 wickets, eventually. 

After the great win, captain Dwayne Bravo talked about his team's performance and said, "Thanks to almighty god and thanks to my teammates - to my team, this victory is for Trinidad and Tobago. In a tournament like this, you can lose close games but we had the best team and we deserved to win," 

He further said, "I am happy with the way our team played throughout the tournament. I think the first ball of the day by Ali Khan set the tone for us." and added, "Ronchi got them off to a great start but Pierre showed his courage to come back. Colin Munro put an icing on the cake along with Brendon McCullum."

"They rely heavily on (Imran) Tahir and Green while opening the ball. I knew we have the best finishers in the tournament and to win the final with eight wickets, I am really happy."

Also, Khary Pierre, who was awarded man of the match award for his very crucial spell, expressed delight having contributed so significantly for his side by saying, "It was the perfect end to a good tournament. I am very happy with my performance. I want to be a big-match player and I backed myself tonight. I am very happy with this award and the win,"
