Having led the Worcestershire County Cricket Club towards victory in the Vitality T20 Blast final on Saturday, September 15; all-rounder Moeen Ali has hailed the win as a likely turning point for the club across all aspects of the game in English domestic structure.

Moeen played a perfect captain's role, as he scored 41 each against Lancashire and Sussex in the final and also had figures of 5/46 across his eight overs. He basically continued from where he left against India in the Test series.

Receiving the prestigious trophy, Moeen was quoted saying, "It’s for the city, the fans, all the players, the people who work at the ground. It’s been a tough 10 years. I give a special mention to ‘Bumpy’ Rhodes. He put this team together and unfortunately he’s not here to see it. He brought these guys through the academy and I’m sure he’s proud to see us reaping the rewards."

"It was Bumpy who gave me the opportunity to captain this side before he left, to lead a fantastic bunch of guys with no egos," he added.

Batsman Ben Cox, who received twin man-of-the-match awards for his brilliant unbeaten knocks of 55 and 46, also reflected on his side's magnificent victory and said, "It’s been tough, As a professional, you go through the highs and the lows of emotions and this week have had both. To put in two performances and help us win a trophy means the most to me." and reiterated, "It was just my day for some reason."
