Former South African player Albie Morkel has recalled some of the most dangerous experiences of his life, which he came across and went through during his stay in Mozambique jail. 

Albie, who played 58 ODIs, 50 T20Is and 1 Test for the Proteas as well as featured in 91 Indian Premier League games for various franchises, recounted how he once had been arrested and charged with smuggling weapons. 

Appearing on The Dan Nicholl Show on SuperSport, Morkel described the story, where he spent two days in the native prison in Tete. Having been arrested and locked up for possessing the ammunition from a tiger fishing exhibition, Morkel says that the experience has left a bit of a scar in his mind. 

"They pulled AK-47s on us and it turned into a very ugly story. Thrown in the back of a car, the next time I got out and the gates opened to Tete provincial prison." Morkel said and added, "I have never been to jail in South Africa or even close to it but I don't think what happens in there... humans shouldn't be treated like that,"
