Ehsan Mani, Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has come out in support of under-fire Chief of Selectors Inzamam-ul-Haq after former leg-spinner Abdul Qadir accused him of nepotism. Mani met Inzamam on the latter's request and assured him full support in the ongoing nepotism controversy.

Following the nepotism allegations, Inzamam went on his official social media handle to share a video of himself, where he has not only dismissed the allegations and called for a PCB meeting, but also said he will resign from the position if he was found guilty.

On Tuesday (September 13), Inzamam wrote on Twitter, “I strongly refute this unfounded and malicious claim. For the record, no one from junior selection committee was approached and there is no truth in this. I am taking this matter quite seriously and will be meeting PCB chair for an open enquiry on this matter tomorrow.”

On the other hand, Ali also came in Inzamam’s support, saying he never received a call from the former Pakistan captain regarding the selection of his son. He stated, “I would like to request the PCB to take legal action against those who are spreading such rumors.”

While the PCB chief is disappointed with the speculation concerning the integrity of two former Test cricketers and expressed full trust in both of them.

This is not the first time when Inzamam faced accusations of nepotism, as he previously came under criticism after his nephew Imamul-ul-Haq's selection.
