Team India lost the five-Test series against England by a margin of 1-4 but have managed to retain the top spot in the latest ICC Test rankings for teams.
Latest rankings released by the International Cricket Council on Tuesday (Sept 11), India dropped down from 125 points to 115 points, still maintaining a nine-point lead over South Africa, who were placed at the 2nd position in the rankings with 106 points.
England, thanks to this impressive series win, gained 8 points and climbed to the 4th position in the Rankings.

Australia, who are tied with South Africa with 106 points, remained at the third position in the rankings. New Zealand dropped down to the fifth position, trailing three points behind the Three Lions.
India lost the fifth and final Test by a margin of 118 runs chasing 464 despite centuries from KL Rahul (149) and Rishabh Pant (114), as captain Virat Kohli fell for a golden duck in the chase.
