England all-rounder Ben Stokes may have been cleared off affray charges after a trial at Bristol Crown Court, but his troubles hasn’t finished it as yet. Stokes is due to face the internal disciplinary inquiry which was put on hold because of his court trial.

According to a report in The Telegraph, Stokes will finally face a cricket disciplinary hearing on December 5.

Reports also suggest that Stokes and his teammate Alex Hales will appear before the England & Wales Cricket Board’s cricket discipline commission in the six weeks between England’s tours to Sri Lanka and West Indies. Two days have been reserved for the hearing concerning the street brawl incident in Bristol that led to Stokes’s arrest and allegations in court that Hales kicked a man in the head.

Both the cricketers are likely to face charges of bringing the game into disrepute and could be facing extended bans. The complication of the case and availability of an appropriate panel delayed the start of the hearing until the end of the cricket season. Moreover, England will leave for Sri Lanka tour on September 28 and the management don’t want Stokes or Hales to return home to face a disciplinary case while the tour was going on.

It is worth mentioning here that Hales was never arrested or charged after the scuffle which left two men unconscious. On the other hand, Stokes was charged with affray but was found not guilty by a jury last month.
