Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced its own domestic T20 competition, which is set to kickstart this November 2018, after its annual general meeting as the CSA members council voted unanimously in favor of the idea. 

The league will replace the franchise based "Global T20 league" which was to see its first edition in 2017 and was a six-team competition, contested in a double round-robin format and include an eliminator and conclude with a final. 

According to the reports coming in as well as pre-confirmed International calendar, top cream of South African cricketers are unlikely to take part for atleast the first 10 days of the tournament as they'll be in Australia for the limited overs tour that runs from October 31 to November 17.

While details on the sponsors, broadcasters are yet to be confirmed, SupersSport will most likely televise the matches, despite pulling out of a 49% shareholding in the T20 league. 

Talking about this development, CSA President Chris Nenzani was quoted saying, "Chief Executive Thabang Moroe and his management team have come with a commercial model that is both financially viable and offers promise for an exciting and long-term future that meets all the conditions laid down by the CSA Board of Directors."

"We will never administer cricket in a manner that is not in line with good corporate governance. That is a sustainability issue. As the leadership we were comfortable that we had to postpone the T20 League in order to sustain the game in this country, which is our key mandate." he added.
