Pakistan Super League (PSL) have officially confirmed on Friday (7 September) that South African batting legend AB de Villiers will take part in the upcoming 2019 edition of the T20 tournament.

PSL broke the massive news on their official Twitter account, saying:  “the GOAT from South Africa is now a part of PSL! A warm welcome to AB de Villiers.”

De Villiers, who announced his retirement from international cricket this May but is open to play domestic cricket, will also feature in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Royal Challengers Bangalore along with his home side Titans.

For now, it is yet to confirm how many matches  De Villiers will play in the IPL, PSL and Titans, as the domestic T20 Competition in South Africa is slated to take place in April and May clashing with India’s T20 league.

Meanwhile, the PSL franchise –Lahore Qalanders will have the first pick at the draft after finishing bottom of the tournament for the second successive season, which will give them golden opportunity to pick Proteas batting superman De Villiers and make him skipper for the PSL 2019.

The PSL 2019 draft will take place in November 2018 while the next edition will get underway from February to March next year.

Besides IPL and PSL, De Villiers would be certainly playing in the Big Bash League in Australia which gets underway in December, though, there is not any confirmation regarding the same.
