Who would forget one of the most hilarious or, as described by Vikram Sathaye, the most intimate moment on the cricket field when Indian wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha jumped onto Steve Smith, the then Australian skipper, last year.
During India and Australia's third Test in 2017, Ravindra Jadeja’s delivery in the 80th over of the first day got stuck between Smith’s pads after taking an inside edge.
Saha saw it as a chance to get Smith out. He attempted a catch but both ended up tumbling on the ground hilariously. Not only close in fielders and crowd, even umpires were in splits.
Wriddhiman Saha, who is currently out of Indian team because of injury, recalled the incident on his Twitter account and both, he and Smith had a good laugh about it.
Smith is currently banned from Australian side after being caught in plotting a ball-tampering against South Africa. He will have to sit out of the team till next year.
"How many of you remember this incident with @stevesmith49 ????????," Saha wrote posting the picture.
