Former Indian cricketer-turned-commentator Navjot Singh Sidhu was heavily criticized by Indian fans and media for visiting Pakistan to attend Imran Khan‘s swearing-in ceremony as the Prime Minister of the country.

But, Sidhu has been continuously receiving support from Pakistan cricketers for his friendly gesture, including newly crowned Prime Minister and Kamran Akmal.

Now, Mohammed Hafeez has joined the list by saying “Pakistan enjoyed Sidhu’s short stay” in the country. Hafeez further added that Sidhu brought a sense of peace and humanity from India.

On 21 August, he tweeted, “It was great to hav @sherryontopp in Pakistan , he brought a sense of Peace & respect for humanity , all Pakistan enjoyed his short stay here , we must Respect each other & should work together for humanity & better world.”

While, Shahid Afridi, former Pakistan skipper and legendary all-rounder also lauded Sidhu for his gesture and wants India and Pakistan to join hands and stay in peace rather than war.

Noteworthy, Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev didn’t accept the invitation to attend the ceremony, while Sidhu went ahead with his words and visited the country and even gifted a Kashmiri Shawl to Imran.

Khan also wants the peace between the two countries, as well as, went on to claim that the people who are criticising Sidhu for his visit doesn’t want the countries to come together and live peacefully.
