Cricket Australia believes two-Test series against Pakistan will go as per plan

Australia will tour UAE to play against Pakistan in the absence of banned trio Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft.

The itinerary of Pakistan-Australia Test series will be announced in the immediate future

Pakistan’s newly elected Prime Minister and cricket legend Imran Khan has already instigated changes in the country’s cricket board.

Imran, who led Pakistan in the triumphant 1992 World Cup, appointed former ICC president Ehsan Mani as the new PCB chairman after Najam Sethi, who has a history of clashes with new PM, resigned.

However, the changes won’t impact the plans of a two-Test series against Australia in October in UAE. According to Herald Sun, Cricket Australia (CA) is well ahead in planning for the matches despite no official confirmation of dates or venues for the games

CA is confident that the matches will take place as planned while the itinerary will be announced in the immediate future. Australia will tour UAE in the absence of banned trio Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft.

Members of the Australia A team are currently playing in India. The touring squad includes Test players such as Usman Khawaja, Matt Renshaw and Peter Handscomb.

Former Australia cricketer Simon Katich has suggested that Khawaja, the incumbent number three, should open the batting against Pakistan along with Matt Renshaw.

“I think they need some seniority at the top of the order and given he (Khawaja) has batted at three it might actually suit him to get out there and get into it straight away. He is an opener from way back when he first started playing club cricket,” Katich quoted as saying by Herald Sun.

Bowling spots are also up for grabs as the leading speedsters Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood have already been ruled out from the Pakistan Test series due to injuries.
