With only a year left in the World Cup 2019, Indian team is now focusing on building a strong team for the mega event. As the day comes near, players who are eager to be a part of India's world cup squad don't want to miss this opportunity. One of them is Krunal Pandya. While his brother is already a key member of Indian limited-overs squad, Krunal wants to seal a place in Indian side as well.

It won't be easy for the Mumbai Indians all-rounder. But it isn't too tough for him either. Krunal was called as replacement of Washinton Sundar for the T20I series against England. It shows the selector has kept him in contention. However, the southpaw didn't get a game.

Talking about his aim, he said the goal is to get into the Indian side first, then, to play for the country in World Cup. "My ultimate goal is to play for the country. To play for India in the World Cup and that is the next goal to be very honest. I am going tournament by tournament or you can say match by match and if I do well consistently, I’ll get what I want. So obviously at the end, the ultimate aim is to play the 2019 World Cup for India. I hope the way I am going, I will achieve that as well,” Krunal said in a chat with Mumbai Indians.

“I have been working hard on my game. Slowly and steadily, I am improving on every aspect. In the end, the most important thing is to improve by every game, every tournament or every season and that is what I am focusing on. I am not thinking about the result but purely on improving,” the all-rounder added.

Krunal is a handy spinner and batting is his additional advantage. We have seen him playing some crucial knock for his IPL team.

In List A, the Gujarat-born has picked up 31 wickets in 31 games and scored 862 runs. He made his first-class debut, in fact, his only game, in 2016. He managed to pick only 2 wickets in that game and scored 23 runs with the bat.
