Indian cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar comes out in support of flood-hit Kerala, as the legendary batsman urged the people to donate to the Chief Minister Distress Relief Fund (CMDRM) to help the families hit by torrential rain in the coastal state of the country.

Tendulkar is not only admired for his brilliant contribution to the India Cricket but also his charitable work and his financial contributions to the needy people in the country.

This is not the first time when Tendulkar lends his helping hands to the struggling people in the country whether be it donating to the Indian wheelchair cricket team or providing financial help to the underprivileged and poor people or the drought-affected farmers in Maharashtra.

At the moment, Kerala’s many districts are grappling with severe flood situation here and Tendulkar has expressed his support behind the Kerala people. He also urged people to show their support with Kerala.

On Tuesday (14 August), Tendulkar took to Twitter to ask to donate to the Chief Minister Distress Relief Fund (CMDRM) to help the families of flood-hit in Kerala.

He wrote, “Prayers are always good but in times of dire need and suffering we all can do more. Right now the victims and families of the #KeralaFloods need our help. Let's show them that we #StandWithKerala. Even a small contribution to Kerala's #CMDRF would go a long way. @CMOKerala”

Tendulkar is very close to the state as the batting great is the owner of Kerala Blasters FC in the Indian Super League as well as has a house in Cochin, where he spends quite a lot of time after retirement.
