Having been originally selected for the upcoming limited overs Quadrangular series involving the India A team at home, all-rounder Vijay Shankar now finds himself out of it with an untimely injury.
Shankar, who has played five T20 Internationals for India, was selected to play for India B but now won't be able to take part because of hamstring niggles.
Shankar will be going through a period of rehabilitation and recovery at National Cricket Academy in Bangalore, the BCCI stated in a media release on August 12.
India A and B team will be hosting South Africa and Australia for 50-overs List A series that starts on Friday (August 17) at the Mulapadu twin grounds, near Vijayawada.
The All-India senior selection committee has decided to not name a replacement for Shankar in what is a very strong India B squad led by Manish Pandey.
