WATCH - David Warner left agitated after umpire howler in CPL 2018 match

Warner was wrongly given out during a CPL 2018 match.

David Warner bemused and shocked at being given out LBWSt Lucia Stars opener David Warner and captain Kieron Pollard were left scratching their heads after a mega howler from umpire Nigel Duguid during the match against Guyana Amazon Warriors in CPL 2018.

Warner on 11, attempted a reverse sweep on a full delivery from Warriors’ leggie Imran Tahir. Warner missed the shot and Tahir appealed as the ball seemingly hit Warner on his pads. Umpire Nigel Duguid raised his finger and Tahir went on his trademark celebration; while Warner appeared to mouth "What?" with palms upraised and looking around in bewilderment.

Warner was livid and bemused with the decision, as replays showed the Australian had top-edged the ball into his gloves. Not only had it struck the bat and gloves but was on a trajectory that would have taken it wide of the stumps.

Here is the video of David Warner’s dismissal:

St Lucia was chasing 142 but was left short when Afghan teenager Qais Ahmad was unable to club the final ball for the boundary needed to force a Super Over. This was St Lucia’s 13th consecutive defeat.

"David will accept that (decision), he will move on and I'm looking forward to him scoring some runs. We have another eight games to play and if he gets off he's going to win you three of those eight games all by himself. I'm not particularly worried about it, but it's just a matter for us to stick together,” said Kieron Pollard.
