The Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) is searching for a head coach for the Indian women's team; however, the Cricket Advisory Committee(CAC), consisting of greats and legends like Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, and Sourav Ganguly, is not being consulted for the appointment. 

The Indian women's team is without a proper head coach ever since Tushar Arothe resigned from his position and with only a few months left for the all-important T20 World Cup in the Caribbean, the appointment has become a very important matter in Indian Cricket. 

The CAC was formed in 2015 to advise the board on important cricketing matters and they were the ones who choose Anil Kumble for the post of Indian men's team head coach in 2016 but that isn't likely getting copied to the women's team. 

A source close to the matter has been quoted saying according to TOI as "It's a kind of a grey area right now because we don't know if this present CAC is functional right now. One member heads a state association; another is a commentator and working in the Indian Premier League (IPL). It needs to be clarified," 

So far, Ramesh Powar, Ajay Ratra, Sunil Joshi and others have applied for the job and BCCI did conduct interviews on Friday, August 10. The board is expected to name Arothe’s replacement soon.

Currently, the Indian women's team is going through a camp at the National Cricket Academy(NCA) under the supervision of interim head coach Ramesh Powar.
