Pakistan opening batsman Imran Nazir has announced his return to international cricket after being out of the game for almost 4 years. He was diagnosed with career-ending arthritis in 2015.

In 2014, Nazir had asked his fans if he should hang his boots, but fans told him to keep faith in God. "Thinking to retire from cricket officially. What you say?", he tweeted.

But after successful treatment and fully recovering from arthritis, Nazir was seen in action earlier this year in some side matches in the UAE and was part of the Bahrain Cricket Festival match alongside Misbah-ul-Haq and Shahid Afridi.

Now he is set to make a comeback and put his hand up for a comeback in the national team. Speaking to the media in Lahore on Thursday, he said, “I am thankful to the Shahid Afridi Foundation and the Pakistan Cricket Board for helping me through some tough times."

He added, “I will see how much I can play by judging the quality of my game.”

Imran is famous among the Indian fans for his 44-ball 111 runs in controversial Indian Cricket League back in 2008.
