West Indies swashbuckling batsman Chris Gayle had smashed five sixes against Bangladesh in the third and final One-day International (ODI) at Warner Park in St Kitts to become the joint most number of six-hitter in international cricket. He played an innings of 73 runs from 66 balls, however, they still lost the game and series too by 2-1.
But it was a historic game for Gayle who achieved a milestone as he equaled Pakistan's Shahid Afridi's record of 476 international sixes. However, Gayle took just 443 matches while Afridi hit those sixes in 524 international games.
Impressed with the Caribbean southpaw, the former Pakistan all-rounder wants to go one-on-one against him. Gayle said he doesn't want to break Afridi's record and wants to be there alongside him. The 38-year-old added that there won't be any six from his bat and Afridi's record is safe.
“To be able to tie with Afridi with 476 sixes is great. I think I’ll keep it at that & hit no more 6s. I think we’re both big 6-hitters, entertainers & it’s fantastic to be joint first with Shahid Afridi. So boom-boom, don’t worry, your record is safe, okay," he said.

But responding to Gayle, Afridi said the 'Universe Boss' deserves to go past him. Also, he wants to play a one-stump-match with the explosive batsman which would have no restrictions.
No worries at all in the Universe Boss taking over my record! Richly deserved, hope to play a single wicket match with you one day, let's see who hits more 6s and there should be no rules for getting OUT! ????@henrygayle https://t.co/WxEaUhKjgY
