Indian opener Smriti Mandhana continued her rich vein of form in the ongoing Kia Super League (KSL). She scored a blistering 27-ball 43* to help Western Storm register a thumping 9-wicket victory over Southern Vipers on Tuesday (July 31) at Arundel Castle.
After being put into bat, Vipers were bowled out for 91 in 18.1 overs. Chasing the paltry target, Mandhana made the mockery of Vipers’ bowling attack. Her unbeaten knock was laced with 6 boundaries and 1 six.
While Smriti forged a 39-run opening stand with Rachel Priest, she shared an unbeaten 54-run partnership with Heather Knight to saw her side in just 9.3 overs.
Mandhana has been in fabulous form all through the tournament, having amassed the scores of 48, 37 and a record equalling 52 not out in the first three games.
The Western Storm are currently leading the points table with 3 wins from 4 matches. They will take on Lancashire Thunder in their next clash on Friday (August 3).
