Former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev has been added to the Indian golf team for Asia Pacific Seniors 2018. The 1983 World Cup winning captain qualified on the basis of his performance in the All India Senior Tournament that was held at the JP Greens Golf Course in Noida earlier in July.

It has been 24 years since Kapil retired from international cricket. But he will be seen representing India again in the tournament which is set to be played from October 17 to 19 at the Tom Watson Golf Club in Miyazaki, Japan.

In a golf magazine, the cricketer had talked about how he suddenly started playing golf. "I first started playing golf in December 1994. I remember this because I stopped playing cricket the month before. A friend of mine got me over to Delhi Golf Club. I was amazed. Golf is a game where you compete against yourself. You dream of improving every hole," he said. 

Sharing his best moment in the golf, Kapil said, "Probably when I made my first hole-in-one. I didn't even know what a hole-in-was, really. It was the first year I played and it just happened. Holed out from 185 yards on the fifth at Delhi Golf Club. I've had three holes-in-one since."

Dev had also qualified for the 2015 edition of the tournament that was held in China.
