Sabbir Rahman, the Bangladesh cricketer is again in news for his bad deeds. This time the incident didn't happen on the cricket field. But Rahman is alleged to have abused and threatened fans on social media.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board will investigate the incident. As per the reports, it happened after Bangladesh's second ODI against Windies in Guyana on July 25.

"We are looking into the matter," BCB chief executive Nizamuddin said on Friday. "The board would take appropriate action after looking into the possible breach in conduct. Players, especially national players, are given definitive guidelines on how to behave with fans and they have been told that they must be very careful when interacting with the public on social media.

"Since it is out in the public and when it has come to the board's knowledge, if such a breach has occurred it will be referred to the disciplinary committee and appropriate action taken," he added.

The fan who was at the receiving end said, "It was simply shocking," as per Cricbuzz reports. "I just expressed my feeling on my post and one of junior tagged it to him and we received a similar reply. I would not have taken it seriously but as there was a threat of physical assault I got scared and shared it," said the MBA student of Dhaka University.

The said account, "Shabbir Rahaman Roman" (the name also used in BCB's official emails to the players and media), deactivated since the incident was reported to BCB, had more than 90,000 followers and is believed to be Sabbir's personal account.

Not too long when he was fined $25,000 approx and kept away from playing domestic cricket for the next six months. Falling under Grade B in the BCB's list of contracted cricketers, Sabbir was the first cricketer in Bangladesh to be punished in such a manner.

The bad-boy of Bangladesh had once threatened the match-referee as well. He told match referee to not say anything to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Sabbir said to the match referee Shawkatur Rahman: “It will be not good for you if you complain to BCB. It won’t be good for anyone of you.”

The incident had happened during Rajshahi-Dhaka Metro’s match in NCL. When Sabbir was coming to bat, a fan from the gallery teased Sabbir with the word “meow.” Later, Sabbir took the permission of both the on-field umpires to go outside the field for a while. Then he called the fan in the back of the sightscreen and beaten him. The on-field umpires came to know as soon as the incident happened.
