Big-hitting New Zealand opening batsman, Martin Guptill smashed the ball around the park in a Vitality T20 Blast game against Northamptonshire playing for Worcestershire on Friday, July 27, on his way to a magnificent ton that he brought up in basically no time, taking just 35 balls to reach the milestone.

Guptill's record-breaking knock is now the fourth fastest T20 hundred ever scored. With his 35-ball special, he joined a special list that includes Rohit Sharma, David Miller and Chris Gayle.

The record for the fastest T20 hundred still belongs to the destructive Jamaican, Chris Gayle, who scored a ton off just 30 balls playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors in the 2013 edition of Indian Premier League.

Worcestershire were chasing a stiff target of 188 in the allotted 20 overs but Guptill, who quickly went about his business and struck 12 fours and seven sixes, made it a walk in the park, as it helped his team win the encounter with nearly seven overs to spare. Guptill got able support from Joe Clarke, who scored an unbeaten 61 off 33 balls.
