Andre Russell has been ruled out of the third and final ODI against Bangladesh owing to a knee injury.  Russell, who was recalled to the team to play the three-match series, didn't feature in the second ODI as well owing to the same injury. With him not recovering in time for the all-important third ODI, CWI have named left-arm pacer Sheldon Cottrell as his replacement.

Russell has been persisting with knee problems since the IPL. He played the 2018 season for KKR along with the injury. Prior to that he played the Pakistan Super League as well with the injury after he was banned from international cricket following a doping violation. Along with knee problems, Russell has been also suffering from hamstring problems in the meanwhile.

With the Windies focusing on the World Cup next year, Russell is a big part of the scheme of things for the Carribeans. Russell was brought back into the ODI scheme of things for the first time since the ODI against Sri Lanka in 2015.

In his solo outing during the opening ODI, Russell picked up a wicket and scored a 12-ball 13 as the Windies went down by 48 runs. The all-rounder is expected to be back for the three-match T20I series starting July 31.

The series now stands on this deciding game at St Kitts after Bangladesh and the Windies won the first two respective games.
