A little-known Lancashire seamer blew away Yorkshire’s dazzling middle order in a County Championship game on Sunday (July 22). The 27-year-old Jordan Clark got rid of Joe Root, Kane Williamson and Jonny Bairstow off successive deliveries to claim a dream hat-trick.

While Root and Williamson were trapped plumb in front, Bairstow was caught behind the wicket. Root made 22 when he was dismissed and the duo of Williamson and Bairstow didn’t manage to open their account.

Here’s the video:

It is certainly a remarkable achievement for Jordan given that Root and Williamson are the Test captains of their respective countries and are placed at third and fourth spots in the ICC Test batting rankings. Bairstow is also a leading wicketkeeper batsman for England across all formats of the game.

As far as Jordan Clark’s credentials as a first-class bowler is concerned – the right-arm medium pacer has played 40 matches until now, scalping 70 wickets at 36.74. He is also a handy batsman, averaging 1543 runs at an average of 30.25 with 1 hundred and 9 fifties.
