Having been banned by Cricket Australia for 9 months after his involvement in the ball-tampering incident earlier this year, Cameron Bancroft playing in the Northern Territory Strike League club tournament to get some cricket under his belt, has found himself in an unforeseen trouble.

Bancroft was batting in the middle for Desert Blaze, when he miscued an attempted lap sweep shot and was severely hurt after being struck a blow in the throat.

The good news is that Bancroft, who has been taking part in the month-long NT Strike League limited-overs competition while serving his nine-month ban from international and state cricket, has been cleared of any significant injury.

He spent the night in Royal Darwin Hospital as a precautionary measure after scans showed that Bancroft had suffered a cartilage tear to his trachea, but the damage will heal naturally and was discharged on Sunday, July 22.

During the game, Bancroft slowly raised himself to his feet as he was checked by medical staff and went onto score 62 from 66 before being taken to Royal Darwin Hospital for the precautionary scan.

Unfortunately, Cameron Bancroft will not be able to part in his side's next match which will be played against the David Warner led City Cyclones.
