Indian Test team wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha has been ruled out of the first three Test matches against England starting from August 1. He injured his thumb during IPL 2018 which over time now needs a surgery to be cured.

It is learnt that injections are no longer effective and surgery is the only option to cure Saha’s thumb. Considered to be India’s first-choice keeper in the Test format, Wriddhiman Saha was not named in the India squad for the first three Tests against England and now it is almost sure that he will also miss the remaining two Tests of the high-profile series.

Meanwhile, Tom Moody, Sunrisers Hyderabad coach has sent his best wishes to Saha on Twitter regarding his speedy recovery. Earlier Wriddhiman Saha himself tweeted regarding the extent of his injury to aware his fans. Moody's tweet came in the wake of the former being ruled out of the Indian Test squad for the first two Tests.

Earlier, Saha had tp miss the IPL 2018 final owing to his thumb injury against Chennai Superkings who went on to lift the IPL title for the third time.
