India U19 crush Sri Lanka U19 in the first Youth Test by an innings and 21 runs

It was a brilliant all-round performance by India U19 team in the first Youth Test against Sri Lanka U19 at Nondescripts Cricket Club Ground, Colombo; as they wrapped up the first Test by an innings and 21 runs.

Sri Lanka U19 had batted first after winning the toss and scored 244 runs with Pasindu Sooriyabandara top scoring with 69 runs. Harsh Tyagi and Ayush Badoni picked four wickets each and Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun picked 1/33 on his India U19 debut.

Atharwa Taide (113) and Ayush Badoni (185*) top-scored for India U19 as the team put up 589 in their first innings. Kalhara Senarathne picked 6/170 for Sri Lanka U19.

Nishan Madushka Fernando scored 104 in SL-U19’s second innings, but five wickets from Mohit Jangra was enough to rout them for an innings victory. Arjun Tendulkar again picked up a wicket.
