Having made their Test debut earlier this year against Pakistan, Ireland are now looking forward to next year, precisely July 2019. At Lord's in July next year Ireland will play their first ever 4-day Test match.

England which are currently placed fifth in the ICC Test rankings. They will be playing a five-match Test series against India starting from August 1 in Edgbaston.

It will be the first-ever meeting between the two local rivals in the game's longest format.

The clash is the precursor to next year's Ashes series between England and Australia, which begins at Edgbaston on 1 August.

ECB chief executive Tom Harrison said, "We fully supported the ICC's decision to award full membership to Cricket Ireland and we expect next summer's inaugural Test match at Lord's against our neighbours to be a historic celebration for all Irish cricket fans.

"It will also provide excellent Ashes preparation for England against an Irish team whose impressive performance against Pakistan earlier this year showed they can compete strongly in this form of the game."

Earlier, England won the ODI series against India after losing the T20I series both consisting of 3 matches. England now play a format against India that they are more comfortable playing against their opposition.
