Former Australia pacer Brett Lee is confident of Virat Kohli's form in the tour to Australia later this year.  Earlier this month, Aussie fast bowler Pat Cummins had made a statement on Kohli saying that they will ensure the Indian skipper doesn't get enough runs during the series.

The Indian star batsman has a good record in Australia, however, he had failed to score runs in the last Border-Gavaskar series at home. 

“Kohli has a lot to prove and he will prove this year why he’s so good,” Lee told foxsports.com.au. “Kohli will have a massive year this year. I think he will get hundreds because I’ve never seen a guy so hungry.”

Lee backed Kohli but said Australia should not lose hope in absence of Steve Smith and David Warner as India has a poor record down under. “India haven’t had a great record here in the past two series they’ve played,” he said.

India was whitewashed by Australia in 2011-12 and suffered a 2-0 loss in 2014-15. “Australia can tap into that…India have got their work cut out. The Australian bowling holds the key. I’ve always said that you win by taking 20 wickets, and we’ve got the bowlers who can do that.”

Another former Australian great, Glenn McGrath, is hoping for a great contest this summer. “Kohli has got a bit of an aggressive attitude but showed last time he was out here he’s not going to take a backward step. It’s going to be an interesting summer. If you get on top of them, the No.1 player and their captain, it makes the job so much easier.”
