MS Dhoni may not have won the second ODI on Saturday but he did manage to enter the 10,000 runs club in ODIs. He became only the fourth Indian and twelveth overall batsman to reach the milestone.

The 37-year-old former India skipper joined the elite list which features some of India’s greats like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid.

Dhoni achieved the feat in the 273rd innings of his 320th match. It made him the fifth fastest to reach the landmark in terms of the number of innings. Only Tendulkar (259), Ganguly (263), Ricky Ponting (266) and Jacques Kallis (272) have reached the milestone in fewer innings than him. He is also the only batsmen to score 10,000 runs with a strike rate of more than 50.

Former India skipper was congratulated by fellow cricketers. David Warner also mentioned the Indian cricketer for his achievement. He lauded his effort and wrote, "10000 runs well done @msdhoni superb effort."
