Indian star batswoman Veda Krishnamurthy has made it clear that they are not worried if the BCCI is unable to assign a new coach in time for their Sri Lanka tour in September.

The head coach of Indian women's cricket team, Tushar Arothe, has stepped down from his post after players' revolt on Tuesday (July 10). As per the media reports, Arothe’s position has become untenable due to alleged differences with some of the star players, who were not pleased with his training methods.

The Women in Blue will commence their training camp on Monday (July 16) for the three ODIs against Sri Lanka. The series is considered as a vital preparation for ICC Women’s World Twenty20, scheduled to be played in the West Indies from November 9.

“We have a camp starting from Monday and I’m sure the BCCI have someone who can take that camp forward. Even if we don’t get someone, we still have our fielding coaches and other support team who have been with the team for some time,” Veda told Sport360.

“I’m pretty sure we as a team can handle such situations. He (Tushar) stood down and said particular reasons. I don’t have nothing to say on that and I’m not on a committee who decides who will come or go. We as players are all spectators as to what will happen by reading newspapers and browsing the internet,” he added.

Arothe’s ouster came exactly a month after India’s women side agonizingly lost the Asia Cup T20 final to Bangladesh by three wickets. Notably, it was India’s first loss in the Asia Cup final.
