Virat Kohli applauds India’s first track and field gold medal winner Hima Das on Twitter

Das won the gold medal in the 400-metre women race.

The 18-year old athlete Hima Das from Assam has made the whole nation proud by becoming the first gold medal winner in track and field event at the IAAF World Under-20 Athletics Championships. Das won the gold medal in the 400-meter women race and amazed everyone.

Hima Das only took 51.46s to win the gold medal in the women race with now joining javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, who won the gold in Poland in the last season in 2016.

Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli who is on English tour left no opportunity to wish the young athlete on her achievement. Virat Kohli took to Twitter and congratulated Hima Das on her world record. While praising Hima Das, Virat Kohli wrote What an incredible achievement for #HimaDas, the first Indian to win a Gold Medal in 400m Sprint at the World Under-20 Championship. The country is so proud of you! ????????????????????????
