WATCH – Sri Lanka fans pull AB de Villiers’ leg after his funny question about Sri Lanka to Virat Kohli

AB de Villiers announced retirement from international cricket in May 2018.

Sri Lankan fans make fun of AB de Villiers

South Africa got a taste of Indian subcontinent pitches as they were bowled out for just 126 runs in the first Test against Sri Lanka at Galle. This happened after Sri Lanka conjured up 286 runs in the first innings after a brilliant 158* by Dimuth Karunaratne.

Thanks to their performance, the Sri Lankan fans decided to make fun of former South Africa captain AB de Villiers and asked him to come to play for South Africa as this was offseason. The fans even held a placard asking De Villiers to play in Sri Lanka.

To give some background, AB de Villiers, who retired from all forms of international cricket in May this year, had appeared on a podcast during the IPL 2018 along with his RCB captain Virat Kohli. The hosts of the podcast, AIB comics Tanmay Bhatt and Gursimran Khamba asked Virat why does India still tours Sri Lanka.

Before Virat could answer, AB de Villiers put his two cents in and said, “That’s become the off-season.

Virat replied, “Ya we count it like off-season because there’s no time difference either, its like half an hour.”

AB further added, “And you never lose to them. So it’s off-season.”

Now with Proteas struggling in the emerald islands, Sri Lankan fans decided to have a good time at the expense of AB de Villiers.
