The game of cricket in India is no less than a religion and thus the esteemed cricketers enjoy the near god-like status. Recently, one of MS Dhoni’s superfan did something so special for his hero that it impressed the legend himself.

Dhoni turned 37 on July 7 and his fan, Pranav Jain (from Bangalore), gifted him two cans of his favourite tea.

As per a report published in The New Indian Express, Pranav has lost count of the number of times he has met Dhoni in Bangalore and in other cities during the matches. Dhoni can now recognize him from the crowd and has directly interacted with him many times.

Last month, when Dhoni was in Bangalore for the Yo-Yo fitness test, Pranav met him on all three days.

“On the first day, he was practicing at the National Cricket Academy. I met him after that and we casually spoke for a little while about his birthday for around five to 10 minutes. I got a couple of photographs,” Pranav told The New Indian Express.

“When he was on his way back to his hotel, I met him. I told him that there were only three weeks left. He replied Kai ke liye (what for). I said it’s ‘someone’s birthday’. He then said chal hat, ek saal aur buddha (one more year older). The people near me heard this and started laughing,” he added.

On the third day, Pranav brought the ‘special tea’ for Dhoni.

“When he saw me with the cans, he said, ab chai ke badle pachas autograph lega (now in exchange for the tea, will you take 50 autographs?). I told him I just wanted two for now and the rest of 48, I will take later,” he said.

The Bangalore based fan also wished his hero good luck for his upcoming milestone.

“Dhoni needs just 33 runs to be one of the few Indian cricketers to be in 10,000 ODI (One Day International) Runs Club. He will surely achieve this in the ongoing India tour of England,” Pranav concluded.
