Solomon Mire to miss Pakistan ODI series due to injury

Zimbabwe cricket team faces a major blow ahead of their bilateral series against Pakistan. Zimbabwe's batting all-rounder Solomon Mire who played exceptionally well in the recently concluded tri-series has been ruled out due to an injury. The 28-year old cricketer has been an effective player of Zimbabwe cricket team, his absence will definitely be felt in the ODI series against Pakistan.

The team physiotherapist said "He will be out for at least three weeks as he concentrates on physiotherapy rehabilitation which aims to speed up healing and make sure the tear heals without tight scar tissue formation,"

Solomon Mire's injury will be a big blow for the home team as they have already lost the pace bowler Kyle Jarvis as he was ruled out for a long gap of at least six weeks after suffering a fracture in his right thumb during a match in the tri-series.

Zimbabwe's experienced players Brendon Taylor and Sikander Raza will also be missing out from playing in the ODI series against Pakistan due to salary disputes. Meanwhile, Hamilton Masakadza who led the team in tri-series will be leading his Zimbabwean side once again.

Zimbabwe's chief selector Walter Chawaguta has made himself absolutely clear that if Brendan Taylor, Sikandar Raza, Graeme Cremer, Sean Williams and Craig Ervine wants to play for the team they have to make themselves available for further selections.
