Former England opener and now a renowned commentator for BBC's Test Match Special, Geoffrey Boycott has recently undergone quadruple open heart bypass surgery. The 77-year-old is currently recovering from it and will miss commentating on England`s first two tests against India next month.
As per a statement posted by Emma Boycott (Geoffrey Boycott’s daughter) on his father's official Twitter account, the Yorkshire batting great spent 10 days in hospital in Leeds after having the operation on 27 June.
"The surgeon says the operation was a success," Emma’s post further read.

Following the statement on social media, Boycott received a flood of good wishes from his fans and followers. He humorously replied to a number of messages with his daughter typing on his behalf.

Geoffrey revealed his BBC colleague Jonathan Agnew had visited him on Tuesday, and "still took the mickey".

Boycott has represented England in 108 Tests between 1964 and 1982, scoring 8,114 runs at an impressive average of 47.72 with 22 tons and 42 fifties.
