Cricket West Indies(CWI) selectors have decided to rest Kemar Roach for the second Test of the ongoing series against Bangladesh. Roach, who played a key role in West Indies's huge win over the tourists in the first match at Antigua, sustained a hamstring niggle and the move to rest him has been taken with a view to not aggravate what could be a serious injury.

In Roach's place, young Alzarri Joseph has been drafted into the squad. Joseph, who first burst onto the scene in an ICC U-19 World Cup, played his last Test match for the Windies in 2017 and is returning to action after more than six months due to a stress fracture he had picked up in New Zealand in December. 

He proved his fitness by featuring in President's XI two-day game versus Bangladesh recently and was the best bowler for the team returning with figures of 4/53 from 15 overs. Joesph has played 6 Tests and 14 ODIs so far for the Calypso Kings, picking 38 International scalps. 

Otherwise, there is no change in what is now looking a very competitive 13-man Test squad at home. 

The Windies beat the visitors by an innings and 219 runs in Antigua and now eagerly await the start of the second Test at the Sabina Park in Jamaica on July 12, to try and seal the series.
