Former Captain of New Zealand and skipper of Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League, Brendon McCullum has come out and revealed that if given a choice between Kane Williamson or Chris Lynn, who he'd prefer as his opening partner in T20 cricket.

Making a guest appearance on New Zealand Rugby's All Blacks podcast last week, McCullum, who has been spending time back home and training before the start of the Caribbean Premier League next month, had some entertaining reason behind his choice.

During a segment on the show, when he was asked this really tough question, McCullum laughed and replied, "That's a terrible question, That's like asking which is your favourite son or favourite daughter."

It is a tough one for Baz. He has had a good record batting alongside Williamson for New Zealand, while he and Lynn have forged a reputation as the most exciting partnership in Australian T20 cricket with their exploits for Brisbane in the Big Bash League.

He dwelled on the matter a bit further and said, "So Kane, he would be ultimate person for your daughter to marry, if that makes sense. Absolutely love him and he's a genius cricketer,"

"Chris Lynn is the fella you want to be having a beer with at the pub after the races and he's a ripping fella as well and he hits the ball miles.

But, he eventually decided, "I'd say Chris Lynn… don't take any offense Kane!"

McCullum will be back on the cricket field after two months when he steps on the field for Trinbago Knight Riders in this year's Caribbean Premier League in August.
