Pakistan managed to win three out of their four matches and have qualified for the final to be played on Sunday versus the Aussies at the Harare Sports Club. They won their first match against the home team, but Billy Stanlake and Aaron Finch blew them away in their second match. Sarfraz Ahmed and his troops came back and won the remaining two contests to safely book their berth in the final. In the other hand Australia also won 3 out of their four group matches and top the points table.

Best economical pick – Among all the bowlers in this tri series, Andrew Tye has been the most impressive, picking up 12 wickets in the series so far, and three in each of the four games he has played, which makes for tremendous consistency. He has been well-assisted by Billy Stanlake, who has seven wickets in the series.

Top captains & vice captains – Aaron Finch has been the top performer for the Aussies in this Tri Nation series so far. He hit back-to-back half-centuries in the first two games of the series. After finishing on 68* in Australia’s series opener against Pakistan on 2 July, Finch smashed his own world record by hitting 172 against Zimbabwe, the highest score by any batsman in T20I cricket. But in the last 2 games of group stage he dismissed cheaply for 16 and 3, which have slightly diminished the good run of form he had had at the start. He still remains a dangerous prospect for any opposition, though, and his will be a prized wicket for the Pakistanis. For Pakistan, Fakhar Zaman has been the man in form as he has hit two half-centuries in four innings, including a 42-ball 73 in his last match against Australia. His presence at the top of the order has provided Pakistan with brisk starts. Having accumulated 187 runs in the series, he carries good form into the final and after playing a blinder most recently against the same opponent, he can set the tone for Pakistan at the top of the order.

Smart pick – One of the most experienced Australia batsman, Glenn Maxwell, stepped up in the last match against Zimbabwe, as he scored a 34-ball 50, finishing on 56 off 38 to help his side recover from 26/2 while chasing 152. Maxwell had scored 0* and 10 in the two hits before this innings.

Cautious Pick – Hasan Ali’s pace has taken a bit of a pounding as he seems to have dropped in terms of making the ball do the talking. Shaheen Afridi who replaced Hasan Ali in the last game against Australia, playing only his second T20I and the first game of the series, picked up 3/37 including the wickets of Finch and Maxwell. He looks to be a sure starter in the final. So Hasan Ali might lost his place to him.

My XI – Aaron Finch (Captain), Fakhar Zaman (Vice-Captain), Glenn Maxwell, Andrew Tye, Travis Head, Shadab Khan, Fahim Ashraf, Alex Carey, Mohammad Amir, Hussain Talat, Sarfraz Ahmed
