South African Captain, Faf du Plessis has said that the legendary fast bowler Dale Steyn, who has made a comeback to the side after a while having recovered from a long list of injuries, is looking fit and could well make a return to the South African XI to take on against the hosts Sri Lanka in the first Test at Galle.
Du Plessis said that he is impressed with the way Steyn is shaping up and bowled really well in the nets. Faf also said, "He is back for the squad. He looks really good in the nets. Its about getting his fitness levels back up to where we need them to be for Test cricket,"
Steyn, who has been plagued by groin, shoulder and heel problems and was unable to complete the most recent tests he started, against Australia in November 2016 and India in January this year and has missed 27 of South Africa's most recent 32 Test matches, recovered recently and proved his fitness by playing county championship in England this summer for Hampshire and purely on being his side's best should play in Sri Lanka.
First Test of the 2-match series starts on Thursday, July 12.
