Australian pace bowler, Pat Cummins is very keen to see David Warner and Steve Smith rejoin the Australian national squad. He said that it feels like they have been banned for 5 years already. Steve Smith and David Warner were handed one-year ban by Cricket Australia after they were found guilty in the ball-tampering scandal alongside Cameron Bancroft who was given a nine-month suspension.

The reports of their suspension included that they can play cricket at domestic level and will be allowed to take part in the World Cup 2019 if they get selected in the squad.

"I'd love to see it. I'm not sure how realistic it is, but as a player, I'd love to have them (Smith and Warner) in any team I'm in... and as a fan, I'd love to see it," Cummins told the Australian Associated Press.

"It's only been a couple of months since South Africa, but it feels like it's been about five years they haven't played."

Meanwhile, Steve Smith and David Warner are currently taking part in Canada Global T20 league, Smith plays for Toronto Nationals and Warner is leading Winnipeg Hawks in the place of Dwayne Bravo.

"It's so great to see them back playing in Canada," Cummins said. "They want to be involved in cricket and do what's best for cricket."

The 25-year old cricketer who is recovering from an injury is looking to make a national comeback very soon. "As long as there are no hiccups in the building-up stage... we should all be right for the UAE. We've all started running," Cummins concluded.
