Australian leg-spinner, Fawad Ahmed has been picked by Trinbago Knight Riders to replace Shadab Khan for the upcoming season of Caribbean Premier League, which starts from 8th August. In the first encounter, Trinbago Knight Riders will face St Lucia Stars. He will take the place of Pakistani spinner, Shadab Khan as the player is no longer available for the tournament.

Shadab Khan played a crucial role in the last tournament for Trinbago Knight Riders as they were the winners. He took 12 wickets in the season at a bowling average of 15.3.

"We were hugely disappointed to lose out on Shadab for this year's tournament but Fawad is a fantastic replacement. As a bowler who can turn the ball both ways we are sure he will be a fantastic addition to the TKR squad for the 2018 season," the Knight Riders director Venky Mysore said on Monday (July 2).

So far in Fawad Ahmed's career, he has played 39 T20 matches and has 35 wickets at a bowling economy of 7. He is currently a part of Vancouver Knights playing in Global Canada T20 league.
