Renowned journalist Rajat Sharma becomes DDCA president with 54.40% of votes

Veteran journalist Rajat Sharma has been elected as the president of Delhi & District Cricket Association after securing the DDCA polls with 54.40% of votes.

The results of 2018 DDCA elections, which took place between June 27 and June 30, were announced on Monday (July 2) morning. Rajat Sharma's team include Kumar Rakesh Bansal, who won the Vice President polls with 48.87% votes in his favour.

“I thank all members of DDCA who voted in the elections and reposed their trust in us. I now invite all the members to join hands to bring about transparency in the functioning of DDCA,” Sharma tweeted after his victory.

Rajat Sharma is the Chairman and Chief Editor of Hindi news channel INDIA TV. He was bestowed the with the Padma Bhushan award – India’s third-highest civilian award – in 2016 for his immense contribution in the field of journalism. Sharma’s tenure as the DDCA President is for three years.
