Former India captain and one of the greatest players ever to play the game, India’s own Rahul Dravid has become the latest entrant into the ICC Hall of Fame. He becomes the 5th Indian to be inducted into ICC Cricket Hall of Fame after Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Bishan Singh Bedi and Anil Kumble.

Rahul Dravid had a glorious career for India, making his Test debut against England in 1996 at Lord’s and scoring 95 in his first innings ever. Since then, he went on to play 164 Tests, making 13,288 runs with 36 centuries at an average of 52.31 and a best of 270 against Pakistan.

Initially, Dravid was tagged as a Test specialist, but he worked his way to 10,889 runs in 344 ODIs for India with 12 centuries at an average of 39.16 and a best of 153 against New Zealand. He is one of seven players to do the double of 10,000 runs in both Tests and ODIs.

Rahul Dravid also captained India from 2005-2007, including the ICC World Cup 2007 in West Indies.

Rahul Dravid holds the world record for most catches in Tests -210 and most deliveries faced -31,258 and was the first ever ICC Cricketer of the Year when the award was installed in 2004.

Dravid retired in 2012 after a disastrous tour of Australia and currently is the coach of India A and India U19 side. He recently coached the Prithvi Shaw led Indian U19 team to the World Cup win in New Zealand.

On being inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame, Rahul Dravid said, "It is a matter of great honor to be named by the ICC in the Cricket Hall of Fame. To find your name in a list of all-time greats across generations is something one only dreams of while setting out on a cricket career and the kind of recognition that would delight any player."
