Interim Zimbabwe Captain, Hamilton Masakazada admits that they need to apply themselves better in the triangular series against Pakistan and Zimbabwe after they lost to Pakistan in the first T20 of the tournament by 74 runs in Harare.

While chasing a huge total of 182, Zimbabwe were bowled out on 108 as Pakistan won the first T20 match by 74 runs. Asif Ali and Fakhar Zaman were the key players for Pakistan in the game.

The winning captain, Sarfraz Ahmed praised his team after a convincing win against Zimbabwe in the first T20I. He added "First match of the series is really important," said Ahmed after the game. "Fakhar Zaman played really well at the top and Shoaib Malik and Asif Ali finished the innings well.

"It looked like a good batting pitch. The ball did not come on in the first innings, but played well in the second. There was some movement initially.

"Credit goes to the bowlers, especially Usman and Nawaz. Plenty of cricket to be played in this series. Hopefully we will do well."

It became very tough for Zimbabwe as they were totally outplayed by Pakistan in the first T20 match. While talking about their performance, Zimbabwe's captain Hamilton Masakadza said "Only bright point was winning the toss,""We gave them 20 runs extra. It was not ideal that Jarvis went out injured as well.

"We started okay but we lost our way in the middle period. Our batting order was fine, but the execution was a problem.

"Just the first game of the series. We don't need to make changes in the team yet, but we need to apply ourselves better at the top of the order."
