Rishabh Pant has finally been rewarded for some outstanding form across all formats, as the youngster has been drafted into the India A squad for the four-day matches in England by the All-India senior selection committee. After completion of their ongoing List A tri-series, the India A side will take on West Indies A for two 4-day matches before taking on against England Lions in a lone unofficial Test and Rishabh would like to continue his rich reign of form to impress the selectors.

He may have only got one half-century in the tri-series but Rishabh has been hitting the ball really well and the senior selection committee believes he has the game to excel in all formats. It is with this hope that he has been looked at an option for the all-important red ball games that are being played with an eye towards the ambition to try and win the 5-Test series in England for the senior team.

Rishabh made his debut in 2017 versus England at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. He was also a part of the national squad for the Nidahas T20 tri-nation series in Sri Lanka, which the Men in Blue won. Pant played two matches after which he was sidelined owing to his lackluster show. Nevertheless, he made his mark in the IPL playing for the Delhi Daredevils where he made a mockery of some formidable bowling attacks.
