Suresh Raina is one of the best and most successful cricketers to come out from the Uttar Pradesh and has played for India at international level.

Raina, who has captained India in international cricket, has won the 2011 ICC World Cup, 2013 ICC Champions Trophy with Team India and has been a three time IPL winner with Chennai Super Kings. He was the first Indian batsman to hit centuries in all the three international formats and is one of the few players to hit century on Test debut.

Now back in the Indian team after more than a year and preparing for the T20I and ODI series against England in England, Raina’s secrets were spilled by his mother on a TV talk show recently.

Suresh’s mother Parvesh Raina appeared on Zoom TV’s Thanks Mom show and spoke about the first time Raina got selected in the Indian team. She said, “He called me first. He didn’t even say that he was selected. He just asked me to keep the house clean. I was wondering why he said so as our house is always clean. Around 2:30, our house with was flooded with media persons and it was then that I came to know about his selection. He will always call me before any match. He says mom I need your blessings.”

A known foodie, Suresh Raina loves to gorge on food made by her mom and she reveals his favorite dish. It was not a continental dish or seafood, but a staple Indian dish known as Kadhi- Chawal. She also said that Suresh Raina often asks her to make food for his teammates including MS Dhoni.
