ENG v IND 2018: BCCI announces replacements for Washington Sundar and Jasprit Bumrah

Team India hit by couple of injuries ahead of the T20I series.

Indian team is in England for the six limited overs matches (3 T20Is and 3 ODIs) after a successful 2-0 win over Ireland in the two-matches T20I series. 
India has sent a formidable team to face a red hot England team at the top of their game. England has already defeated Australia 5-0 in the ODI series and in the one-off T20I match.

India is also coming off a record 143 runs win over Ireland and the clash between the two giants of limited overs format has mouth-watering written all over it. 

But even before the series began, Team India has lost two of its key members in Washington Sundar and Jasprit Bumrah to injuries. Sundar injured his ankle and was ruled out of both ODIs and T20Is against England; while Bumrah has been ruled out of the T20I series after hurting his thumb against Ireland in the first T20I match.

Now BCCI has confirmed the names of replacements for these two players. Akshar Patel, who is in England with the India A team will replace Sundar in the 3 match ODI series against England. Also, Krunal Pandya has been named as the replacement of Sundar in the 3 matches T20I series against England. 

Rajasthan and Chennai Super Kings fast bowler Deepak Chahar was rewarded for his performance in IPL 2018 with a place in Indian T20I team in place of Bumrah. India will play England in the first T20I on 3rd July 2018.
